And he said to me, (A)“Son of man, (B)can these bones live?” And (C)I answered, “O Lord God, you know.” Then he said to me, (D)“Prophesy over these bones, and say to them, (E)O dry bones, hear the word of the Lord. Thus says the Lord God to these bones: Behold, I will cause (F)breath[a] to enter you, and you shall live. (G)And I will lay sinews upon you, and will cause flesh to come upon you, and (H)cover you with skin, and put breath in you, and you shall live, (I)and you shall know that I am the Lord.”

11 Then he said to me, (A)“Son of man, these bones are the whole house of Israel. Behold, they say, ‘Our bones are dried up, and (B)our hope is lost; (C)we are indeed cut off.’ 12 Therefore (D)prophesy, and say to them, Thus says the Lord God: Behold, (E)I will open your graves and raise you from your graves, O my people. And (F)I will bring you into the land of Israel. 13 And (G)you shall know that I am the Lord, when I open your graves, and raise you from your graves, O my people. 14 And (H)I will put my Spirit within you, and you shall live, and I will place you in your own land. Then you shall know that I am the Lord; (I)I have spoken, and I will do it, declares the Lord.”

Jesus answered him, “Truly, truly, I say to you, unless one is (A)born (B)again[a] he cannot (C)see the kingdom of God.” Nicodemus said to him, “How can a man be born when he is old? Can he enter a second time into his mother's womb and be born?” Jesus answered, “Truly, truly, I say to you, unless one is born (D)of water and the Spirit, he cannot enter the kingdom of God. (E)That which is born of the flesh is (F)flesh, and that which is born of the Spirit is spirit.[b] (G)Do not marvel that I said to you, ‘You[c] must be born (H)again.’ (I)The wind[d] blows (J)where it wishes, and you hear its sound, but you do not know where it comes from or where it goes. So it is with everyone who is born of the Spirit.”
