²² And ^(A)He put all things under His feet, and gave Him ^(B)to be head over all things to the church,

^10 (A)to the intent that now ^(B)the ^[a]manifold wisdom of God might be made known by the church ^(C)to the ^[b]principalities and powers in the heavenly places,

^21 (A)to Him be glory in the church by Christ Jesus to all generations, forever and ever. Amen.

¹⁵ but, speaking the truth in love, may grow up in all things into Him who is the ^(A)head—Christ—

²³ For ^(A)the husband is head of the wife, as also ^(B)Christ is head of the church; and He is the Savior of the body. ²⁴ Therefore, just as the church is subject to Christ, so let the wives be to their own husbands ^(C)in everything.

^25 (D)Husbands, love your wives, just as Christ also loved the church and ^(E)gave Himself for her, ²⁶ that He might ^[a]sanctify and cleanse her ^(F)with the washing of water ^(G)by the word, ^27 (H)that He might present her to Himself a glorious church, ^(I)not having spot or wrinkle or any such thing, but that she should be holy and without blemish. ²⁸ So husbands ought to love their own wives as their own bodies; he who loves his wife loves himself. ²⁹ For no one ever hated his own flesh, but nourishes and cherishes it, just as the Lord does the church. ³⁰ For ^(J)we are members of His body, ^[b]of His flesh and of His bones. ^31 (K)“For this reason a man shall leave his father and mother and be joined to his wife, and the ^(L)two shall become one flesh.” ³² This is a great mystery, but I speak concerning Christ and the church.

¹⁸ And ^(A)He is the head of the body, the church, who is the beginning, ^(B)the firstborn from the dead, that in all things He may have the preeminence.

Sacrificial Service for Christ

^24 (A)I now rejoice in my sufferings ^(B)for you, and fill up in my flesh ^(C)what is lacking in the afflictions of Christ, for ^(D)the sake of His body, which is the church,
