A New Prophet like Moses

15 (A)“The Lord your God will raise up for you a prophet like me from among you, from your brothers—it is to him you shall listen— 16 just as you desired of the Lord your God at Horeb (B)on the day of the assembly, when you said, (C)‘Let me not hear again the voice of the Lord my God or see this great fire any more, lest I die.’ 17 And the Lord said to me, (D)‘They are right in what they have spoken. 18 (E)I will raise up for them a prophet like you from among their brothers. (F)And I will put my words in his mouth, and (G)he shall speak to them all that I command him. 19 (H)And whoever will (I)not listen to my words that he shall speak in my name, I myself will require it of him.

Great Are the Lord's Works

111 [a] (A)Praise the Lord!
I (B)will give thanks to the Lord with my whole heart,
    in the company of (C)the upright, in the congregation.
Great are the (D)works of the Lord,
    (E)studied by all who delight in them.
(F)Full of splendor and majesty is his work,
    and his (G)righteousness endures forever.
He has (H)caused his wondrous works to be remembered;
    the Lord is gracious and merciful.
He provides food for those who fear him;
    he (I)remembers his covenant forever.
He has shown his people the power of his works,
    in giving them the inheritance of the nations.
The works of his hands are faithful and just;
    all his precepts are (J)trustworthy;
they are (K)established forever and ever,
    to be performed with (L)faithfulness and uprightness.
He sent (M)redemption to his people;
    he has (N)commanded his covenant forever.
    (O)Holy and awesome is his name!
10 (P)The fear of the Lord is the beginning of wisdom;
    all those who practice it have (Q)a good understanding.
    His (R)praise endures forever!

(A)Rejoice in the Lord always; again I will say, rejoice. Let your reasonableness[a] be known to everyone. (B)The Lord is at hand; (C)do not be anxious about anything, (D)but in everything by prayer and supplication (E)with thanksgiving let your requests be made known to God. And (F)the peace of God, (G)which surpasses all understanding, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus.

  1. Philippians 4:5 Or gentleness

33 (A)Be on guard, (B)keep awake.[a] For you do not know when the time will come. 34 (C)It is like a man (D)going on a journey, when he leaves home and puts his servants[b] in charge, (E)each with his work, and commands (F)the doorkeeper to stay awake. 35 (G)Therefore stay awake—for you do not know when the master of the house will come, (H)in the evening, or (I)at midnight, or (J)when the rooster crows,[c] or (K)in the morning— 36 lest (L)he come suddenly and (M)find you asleep. 37 And what I say to you I say to all: (N)Stay awake.”
