^2 (A)You shall not add to the word which I command you, nor take from it, that you may keep the commandments of the Lord your God which I command you.

²⁸ Observe and obey all these words which I command you, ^(A)that it may go well with you and your children after you forever, when you do what is good and right in the sight of the Lord your God.

¹⁰ if you obey the voice of the Lord your God, to keep His commandments and His statutes which are written in this Book of the Law, and if you turn to the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul.

The Choice of Life or Death

¹¹ “For this commandment which I command you today ^(A)is ^[a]not too mysterious for you, nor is it far off. ^12 (B)It is not in heaven, that you should say, ‘Who will ascend into heaven for us and bring it to us, that we may hear it and do it?’ ¹³ Nor is it beyond the sea, that you should say, ‘Who will go over the sea for us and bring it to us, that we may hear it and do it?’ ¹⁴ But the word is very near you, ^(C)in your mouth and in your heart, that you may do it.

⁵⁸ “If you do not carefully observe all the words of this law that are written in this book, that you may fear ^(A)this glorious and awesome name, THE LORD YOUR GOD,

⁷ Only be strong and very courageous, that you may observe to do according to all the law ^(A)which Moses My servant commanded you; ^(B)do not turn from it to the right hand or to the left, that you may ^[a]prosper wherever you go. ^8 (C)This Book of the Law shall not depart from your mouth, but ^(D)you^[b] shall meditate in it day and night, that you may observe to do according to all that is written in it. For then you will make your way prosperous, and then you will have good success.

Fools for Christ’s Sake

⁶ Now these things, brethren, I have figuratively transferred to myself and Apollos for your sakes, that you may learn in us not to think beyond what is written, that none of you may be ^[a]puffed up on behalf of one against the other.

²⁷ For I have not ^[a]shunned to declare to you ^(A)the whole counsel of God.

²² Therefore, having obtained help from God, to this day I stand, witnessing both to small and great, saying no other things than those ^(A)which the prophets and ^(B)Moses said would come—
