¹⁸ Run^(A) from sexual immorality! “Every sin a person can commit is outside the body.”^[a] On the contrary, the person who is sexually immoral^(B) sins against his own body.

Fight the Good Fight

²² Flee^(A) from youthful passions, and pursue righteousness, faith, love, and peace,^(B) along with those who call on the Lord^(C) from a pure heart.

Christian Warfare

¹⁰ Finally, be strengthened by the Lord and by His vast strength.^{(A) 11} Put on^(B) the full armor^(C) of God so that you can stand against the tactics^[a] of the Devil. ¹² For our battle is not against flesh^(D) and blood, but against the rulers, against the authorities,^(E) against the world powers of this darkness, against the spiritual forces of evil^(F) in the heavens.^{(G) 13} This is why you must take up the full armor^(H) of God, so that you may be able to resist^(I) in the evil day, and having prepared everything, to take your stand. ¹⁴ Stand,^(J) therefore,

¹⁸ Pray^(T) at all times in the Spirit^(U) with every prayer and request, and stay alert^(V) in this with all perseverance and intercession for all the saints.

A Living Sacrifice

12 Therefore, brothers, by the mercies of God, I urge you^(A) to present your bodies as a living sacrifice,^(B) holy and pleasing to God; this is your spiritual worship.^{[a] 2} Do not be conformed^(C) to this age,^(D) but be transformed by the renewing of your mind,^(E) so that you may discern what is the good, pleasing, and perfect will^(F) of God.

⁸ Finally brothers, whatever is true,^(A) whatever is honorable,^(B) whatever is just,^(C) whatever is pure,^(D) whatever is lovely, whatever is commendable—if there is any moral excellence^(E) and if there is any praise—dwell on these things. ⁹ Do what you have learned and received^(F) and heard and seen in me, and the God of peace will be with you.
