A Church Divided Over Leaders

¹⁰ I appeal to you, brothers and sisters,^[a](D) in the name of our Lord Jesus Christ, that all of you agree with one another in what you say and that there be no divisions among you,^(E) but that you be perfectly united^(F) in mind and thought.

The Believers Share Their Possessions

³² All the believers were one in heart and mind. No one claimed that any of their possessions was their own, but they shared everything they had.^(A)

¹⁶ Live in harmony with one another.^(A) Do not be proud, but be willing to associate with people of low position.^[a] Do not be conceited.^(B)

³¹ Get rid of^(A) all bitterness, rage and anger, brawling and slander, along with every form of malice.^{(B) 32} Be kind and compassionate to one another,^(C) forgiving each other, just as in Christ God forgave you.^(D)

Suffering for Doing Good

⁸ Finally, all of you, be like-minded,^(A) be sympathetic, love one another,^(B) be compassionate and humble.^{(C) 9} Do not repay evil with evil^(D) or insult with insult.^(E) On the contrary, repay evil with blessing,^(F) because to this^(G) you were called^(H) so that you may inherit a blessing.^(I)
