²⁹ Why are you ^[a](A)showing contempt for My sacrifice and My offering ^(B)which I have commanded for My ^(C)dwelling, and why are you ^(D)honoring your sons above Me, by making yourselves fat with the ^[b]choicest of every offering of My people Israel?’

³⁰ Therefore the Lord God of Israel declares, ‘^(A)I did indeed say that your house and the house of your father was to walk before Me forever’; but now the Lord declares, ‘Far be it from Me—for ^(B)those who honor Me I will honor, and those ^(C)who despise Me will be insignificant.

²⁴ Then the captain of the guard took ^(A)Seraiah the chief priest and ^(B)Zephaniah the second priest, with the three ^[a](C)officers of the temple. ²⁵ He also took from the city one official who was overseer of the warriors, seven ^[b]of the ^(D)king’s advisers who were found in the city, the scribe of the commander of the army who mustered the people of the land, and sixty men from the people of the land who were found inside the city. ²⁶ Nebuzaradan the captain of the bodyguards took them and ^(E)brought them to the king of Babylon at Riblah. ²⁷ Then the king of Babylon ^(F)struck them and put them to death in Riblah in the land of Hamath. So Judah was ^(G)led into exile from its land.
