12:16 Paul’s language gives the idea of Christians sharing the same thoughts with respect to one another, another indication of the strategic role of the mind in sanctification (vv. 1, 2). One manifestation of this will be an absence of conceit and pride in worldly position (Phil. 2:1–8). Christians should be distinguished by their readiness to “associate with the lowly.”
