Ps. 120 This psalm is the first of the fifteen “Songs of Ascents” (120–134). As tradition suggests, they were sung by pilgrims traveling to the mountain of God (Zion) to worship. Ps. 120 opens the group appropriately with the song of a faithful worshiper who is far away from the temple among pagan people (v. 5 note).
