2–14 God declares war on Edom, resolving to humiliate (vv. 2–4) and loot (vv. 5–7) that nation. No wise statesman or brave warrior in Edom will withstand the divine assault (vv. 8–10). Edom, which had been cruelly indifferent to Judah’s woes (vv. 11–14), will fall.
