12:10 The stone that the builders rejected. Jesus cites Ps. 118:22, 23; that psalm celebrates the victory that God gives to His Messiah, establishing Him on His throne. Such is the faith of Jesus in His Father and in the Scripture, that in face of the death He has just predicted for Himself (“they took him and killed him,” v. 8), He can rejoice in the promised victory.
