28:4 Shunem. Located just southwest of the hill of Moreh and sixteen miles southwest of the Sea of Chinnereth (Galilee). Shunem was the site of the Philistine camp on the eve of the battle in which Saul died (ch. 31).

Gilboa. This is probably the mountain range that begins five miles south of Shunem and extends south along the eastern edge of the plain of Jezreel. It could also be a village located in the heart of the Gilboa range eleven miles south of Shunem. See 29:1 and note.
